Way to Rock Drummer Girl

Ok, this is the awesomest thing I've seen in a long time:

Seriously? That was Awesome. I love that's she's 13 and totally rocking out on the drums. I also think it's cool that she has people who are encouraging her to be a drummer, because you don't see a lot of girls drumming. It makes me think of a book that I recently found at the library: Rock n' Roll Camp for Girls. (It has a forward by Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-Kinney). The book is all about how to start your own rock band, and not a video game rock band, but actually getting girls to start their own bands. It's all based on the fab Rock n'Roll Camp for Girls in the States, which is all about getting girls to learn how awesome they are through creation and performance. I wish camps like that were around when I was 11. I think they'd be way more fun than learning to play the clarinet.
